Procion MX Ice Dyes

Jacquard is excited to share 6 new Procion MX colors specifically formulated for ice dyeing!

Ice dyeing is one of the easiest and most rewarding dyeing experiences there is, and the process is simple: soak the cotton fabric in a solution of soda ash, then wring it out and tie, fold or scrunch it up, then place it in a colander and cover it in ice or snow, and then sprinkle dye over the ice. Allow the ice to melt overnight in a warm place, and then rinse and wash 24-48 hours later.

The ice causes the component colors of the blended dye to "split" and separate, producing an incredible crystalline pattern of many distinct colors, almost like a kaleidoscope. Imagine the folded fabric as a mountain range: the peaks will dye a different color than the valleys, and you'll see a beautiful stratification of different colors in between.

Jacquard's new Ice Dye colors are formulated to provide the most dramatic and distinct color splits possible. You won't believe the results!!
