Are you ready to move off the flat panel and explore some sculptural or relief forms with encaustic? This 4-day workshop (8/24-8/27) workshop will focus on experimenting with loads of materials to create wall sculptures and 3D forms. We’ll start by looking at other artists to get the creative juices flowing and to illustrate some of the various options. Techniques and demos will include multiple ways of constructing and building underlying structures with materials such as foam, plaster, wood, cardboard, paper clay, wire, and found objects. Using encaustic on top of the forms, we will incorporate surface treatments and mark making with pastels and oil sticks. Discussions will include color and form interaction, scale relationships, importance of sketching, presentation options, finding one’s unique voice. Featuring such Jacquard products as Dye-Na-Flow, Damar Resin, Pearl Ex Powdered Pigments, Encaustic Medium, Indigo, Waxes and more!
