Dying Sheepskins with Acid Dye
  • I am about to start dying my sheepskins (cream medical grade 1" and some regular at 5/8"). I would like to be sure I can use the Jacquard Acid dye to dye them black. This dye worked perfectly for F10 felt (98% wool). Just want to be sure first as its skin and wool. If there is any preprep other than soaking I should do I am open to any and all suggestions. Thanks. Kate
  • The acid dye black is a very good one. I think it should work fine. You might make a test on the skin itself as different surfaces can give pretty different results, but I don't foresee any issue.
  • Great... thanks... that was what I was hoping to hear.... Cheers Kate
