Idye colloidal silver
  • I am in development of a new product for the fitness industry that requires a chemical treatment that defends against odor and bacteria called colloidal silver. The process I've researched to permanently attach it to the fabric involves a product called I-dye which is boiled with colloidal silver and washed into the fabric. Without very much experience or knowledge in the textile and fabric industry, I do not know if this is a standard treatment procedure. Does this sound plausible?
  • This is interesting. I am assuming that the colloidal silver has a charge to it? It doesn't seem like Idye would work if the silver was inert. If it is charges I can see how Idye would help as it holds the dye in using electrostatic interactions with the cotton.
